TapWaterMap

The fine print, in plain terms

Disclaimer

General information only

TapWaterMap provides general information drawn from the U.S. EPA's Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS). It is not professional, medical, or legal advice, and it is not a certification that any water is safe or unsafe to drink.

The absence of a violation is not a guarantee

When a page shows no reported violations, it means none were recorded in the EPA's database for the period covered. It does not test for every possible substance, and it does not account for the plumbing inside your home, which can affect water quality regardless of what the utility reports.

Data may be incomplete or delayed

EPA records update on the EPA's schedule (roughly quarterly) and can contain gaps, corrections, or reporting lags. We show the month our data was retrieved on each page. For the official, current status of your water, consult your water system's annual Consumer Confidence Report and the EPA directly.

Not medical advice

Nothing here diagnoses a condition or tells you to start or stop drinking your water. If you have a specific health concern, talk to a medical professional and your water utility.
